Aberdeenshire Additional Support Needs Learn about the services and support that are available for children and young people who have additional support needs in Aberdeenshire   

Aberlour Aberdeen – provides a ‘core service’ to assess and support parents with a learning disability, who have children aged 0 – 12 years.

Active Schools – the team responsible for putting in place and driving forward a range of planned activities in both school and community settings.

Archway – an independent Aberdeen based charity offering a range of innovative community based services to improve the opportunities available and quality of life for people with learning disabilities in Aberdeen and throughout the North East area.

Bundle Bean – company which sell cosy covers for wheelchairs.

Changing Places – campaign to provide accessible toilets in venues all over the UK.  A list of toilets with hoist/plinth access all over the country is available.

Charlie House – local charity supporting children with complex disabilities and life limiting conditions.

Children’s Hospice Association Scotland – a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people.

Cornerstone – Cornerstone provides care and support services for adults, children and young people with disabilities and other support needs across Scotland.

Cerebral Palsy Foundation -People with cerebral palsy rarely get the interventions and supports they need at the moments they need them. As such, their lives are often deeply and unnecessarily affected.

MOVE – The MOVE Programme is an integrated, multi agency (Education, Health, Social Care) approach for children and adults with physical disabilities and/or complex needs.

http://www.metoomagazine.org/ – Me Too! is a free quarterly magazine for families of children with additional support needs which is distributed throughout Aberdeen City and Shire . Me Too! also hosts many “Relaxed Sessions” in the area allowing full inclusive participation in activities that may ordinarily be difficult to access.
